I have another cracking EP for you today!

CITIES hail from Tunbridge Wells, UK and have just dropped their debut self – titled EP. The band formed in 2012 and consists of Ryan Checksfield (Lead Vocals and Guitar), Andy Cuthbert (Backing Vocals), Jack May (Guitar) and Jack Bowdery (Drums).

CITIES HAVE SUPPORTED THE LIKES OF Mallory Knox, Lower Than Atlantis, Funeral For A Friend and many more, 2013 also saw the band head out on their first UK tour on a run of dates with Hildamay.

CITIES self-titled EP contains four tracks:

-You Deserve Anything

-One Of These Days

-Only Alive

-The Early Hours

Read what frontman Ryan Checksfield said about the lead single ‘The Early Hours’:“ This song is about conforming to mainstream society and how this particular girl has never felt comfortable. Everything she sees in life makes her second guess and feel uneasy, she’s trying to figure out how to break free from the normal standards of living that society imposes on us so that she can be herself.

“We’re really proud of the EP. The songs are kind of inspired by the idea that no matter what has happened, be it good or band, there is always a way to get through things. Either alone or with others, life can be hard, but it’s how you get through it that makes you who you are. It’s taken a lot of hard work to be in a position where, as a band, we are all happy with what we have.”

‘Cities’ is an exciting release from the band with guitar riff driven song and powerful vocals, this makes for a great listen! This is an EP filled with sing a long vocals ready for a mass sing a long! If this is anything to go from this is a band to look out for!

The band will be hitting the road for a short run of dates with Speaking In Italics alongside Idle States in February and they are set to release another single with a music video in early March! See dates:

21/02 - Medway - Beacon Court

23/02 - Manchester - RetroBar

24/02 - Leicester - Firebug
