We caught up with bassist Pat Diaz of Broadside, ahead of their appearance at this years Slam Dunk Festival, along with their UK tour dates to catch up on all things Broadside!

So your heading to the UK this May for Slam Dunk Festival along with a few headlining shows, what can fans expect from one of your live shows?

“A whole lot of passion and an equal amount of energy.”

What are you looking forward to must about your UK shows?

“Everything, really. The fans treat us well and the shows are always a blast. When we found out London was sold out, that invigorated us so much that we are striving to make that the best show of our career with some of the best fans in the world.”

What is the one thing you can't live without on tour?

 “Definitely water. And phone chargers.”

What is your favourite track to play live and why?

“I love playing ‘Hidden Colors’ because it's just a fun song to play. The crowds love bouncing around to it so it gives us a good vibe to feed off of.”

What and who has influenced you as a band and as individuals?

“I think that as individuals, we've been influenced by all the bands we grew up on. Good Charlotte, Taking Back Sunday, Jimmy Eat World, Dashboard Confessional are all bands that got us into making and playing music. As a band, I'd like to think that we draw inspiration from our surroundings, relationships, and life experiences. Also, The 1975.”

Can fans expect to hear any new music from Broadside this year?

“We're still ironing out the details with all of that. You'll all just have to wait and see .”

What does the rest of 2018 have in store for the band?

“We were fortunate enough to be invited back to perform on the Vans Warped Tour for its final cross country run and we are over the moon about it. That's really the only thing set in stone as of right now. We just hope to keep getting out on the road and putting ourselves out there as much as possible.”

Describe the band in three words.

“They did that.”

Where can fans find out more about you?

“Fans can keep up with us on Twitter at @Broadside_ and Instagram at @broadsideofficial .”
