New York melodic rockers, Ionia released their new EP ‘Postcards From The Edge: Chapter 1. Delta 32’  on the 1st February, so our writer Chloe Bevan caught up with the bands frontman Blaise Beyhan to chat about the new release.

How are you?

“Very well, how are you?”

Chloe (Shout It Loud Reviews): “I’m great thanks.”

Can you introduce yourself and tell me a little bit about the band?

“I’m Blaise and I sing and write. The band is built off the idea of pushing one another to be honest, and to create music we can stand behind.”

You're set to release your new EP 'Postcards From The Edge: Chapter 1. Delta 32' can you tell me a little bit about the release?

“It’s produced by Mike Sapone. It was recorded in Long Island and written over 2013 and 2014.”

All your songs on the new release are very emotional, where did you get the inspiration for the songs?

“From experiences that I have had in my life, from the world that seems unjust at times, from the beauty and ugliness of humanity.”

What is your favourite song from the release and why?

“Don’t really have one. I think ‘Idea’ is a good message about thinking for yourself and following ones own nose in the world.”

What was the recording process like for the EP?

“It was a lot of back and forth, trial and error, give and take. It was part of what must be done to get to a place that made sense for us.”

In no more than 140 characters, why should people give your new EP a listen?

“I’m a musician, not a lobbyist. Listen to what you feel like listening to. If something grabs you, grab back. Hopefully we can.”

Tell me one fact about the band that you don't think your fans will know.

“We love Bruno Mars.”

Any plans for a UK tour?

“Plans are in the works! Hopefully soon.”

What does 2015 have in - store for the band?

“Releasing more music, making more videos, writing, touring, finding inspiration in love, loss, pain, and joy.”

Where can fans find out more about you?

You be sure to keep up with the band via their Facebook or Twitter .
