We caught up with We Are Carnivores to find out more about their new EP 'Theordor's A Don, Bro' and what they have in store for the rest of the year.

How are you?

“We are great thanks guys, we just moved into a sweet new bachelor pad and we got that new flat smell all up in our faces.”

You have released your new single 'Theordor's A Don, Bro', can you tell me a little bit about the track?

”We mixed up some nars-tay dissonance with some funky disco vibes and then slagged off some of our fave bands for bigtime selling out. We tried to make the title a witty pun/reference to our boy Theodor Adorno who, way back in the post-war era, said some mad-clever biz about pop music and how formulaic it will become. Well worth reading it up although it just turns our brains to mush!”

How did the video idea come about?

“Is it just us, or does every band ever shoot a performance video in either a forest or a warehouse? It feels surreal to keep seeing bands, from tiny DIY to major label behemoths, churn out seemingly the same music video over and over again! We just wanted to take the mick (and shoot in a forest amirite).”

You have released your new EP 'Theordor's A Don, Bro', can you tell me a little bit about the release?

“It’s going to go penta-platinum in 300 countries. Actually we just googled how many countries there are in the world and there are 196, although apparently ‘195 if you don’t count Taiwan’. Bad times for Taiwan. So far it’s been described as Mathcore, Funk, Disco, Electornica, Britpop, Pop Punk and a whole bunch of other mad stuff, so best thing to do is give it a listen yeyeah! (Pay-what you like on our Bandcamp page).”

What was the writing and recording process like for the EP?

“We wrote and recorded it in our flat (big luv to those above and below us) so it was the most blissfully laid-back experience (not for those above and below). We took our sweet time and made sure every single tiny little slice of sound on it was there for a reason and made sense to us, and it allowed us to properly experiment with our sound, pushing our sound to new (final) frontiers.”

What and who has influenced your sound and style on the new release?

“Dillinger, Enter Shikari, Blakfish, Duran Duran, R Kelly (check out ‘The Buffet’, oh my days check it out if you haven’t already).”

Describe the band in three words.

“Best, bods, 2k16.”

What are you most excited for this year?

“Working on our bods for 2k17. Nah but fo’ real we are well excited for the August tour, releasing a video for ‘You Can’t Argue With Sharks’ (and the other two tracks on the EP), then busting out as much new music as we can! Also League of Legends Fest 2k16 ohhhhhhh boy we are hitting that badboi up.”

Where can fans find out more about you?
