How are you?
“Really well thank you! Thanks for interviewing us!”
You have released your new single 'Callous', can you tell me a little bit about the track?
“The single dropped June 5, and the response has been truly incredible. We're so lucky to have some wonderful people supporting our band and what we do. The song is really just about dealing with toxic relationships we all face in our life. It's just about facing it head on, finding some sort of acceptance in it - and moving on from it. Leaving nothing behind, but obviously with that comes a bit of struggle in itself. I really tried to be honest and open with myself on this one.”
What was the writing and recording process like for the new track?
“The writing started from a demo Dylan (our guitarist) put together! From there we sort of built into it, I did my thing with it, JL also contributed in a big way in helping to give the track life. It really showed us that as a band we had the ability that we probably didn't even acknowledge going into this. I'm really proud of how we pulled together and all put in. We recorded with Ryan at Audax - who was absolutely incredible to work with. The track was mixed by Cory Brunnemann who's based in Texas. Really a great team of people to work with and we look forward to more of it.”
What can fans expect from your new music?
“Lyrically? Just honesty and just us and myself being as real as we can. Our sound is definitely building into something exciting, making everything bigger and better than the EP in every way we can. It's really promising.”
What and who has influenced your sound and style on the new release?
“I listen to a lot of hip-hop, I know that's not the newest thing to be citing - but it genuinely is my favourite genre of music at the moment. In terms of heavy music, my favourite band has always been Confide and they'll always continue to influence me. I know everyone in the band all have different influences which is what I think makes this work, in a way!”
Tell me one fact about the band that you don't think your fans will know.
“We played a cover of a Megan Trainor song once, without having practiced it. At all. It was our first 18+ show and it was insanely embarrassing, never again.”
Describe the band in three words.
“Ummm...haha! Bringing the heat.”
What are you most excited for this year?
“Just to be able to work on new music, refining our sound and having the opportunity to build with some great shows alongside some incredible talent. Just to keep bringing our music to new people, and more people!”
Where can fans find out more about you?
