How are you?
“Very good thanks! Excited for this interview.”
You are set to release your new EP 'This Is Not Ultraviolet', can you tell me a little bit about the EP?
“Of course, the EP is essentially our attempt at showing anybody who listens the kind of things we see everyday in Britain. From nights out at our local club to an encounter with a girl who thinks a bit too much of herself, it's just a story of what we get up to day to day.”
You have also released your new single 'Fashion Statement', what made you decide to release this as your newest single?
“We wanted this to be our newest single because it's all about the sass, we decided before this EP to stop worrying about all the Internet warriors of the world and just say what we think. Plus we think it's the closest we have got to a style of music that sums up exactly what we want our fans to hear.”
What was the writing and recording process like for the EP?
“The writing process is always stressful because it's hard to know when the songs are done, but the recording process was made a little easier with some mates in the studio to help us give the EP a great sound.”
What can fans expect from your new music?
“Fans can expect the music to get groovier and sassier than they've ever heard from us, as we try to define what we mean when we say we play "indie groove".”
What and who has influenced your sound and style on the new release?
“Our influences are so vast that it's hard to say but the main bands we have always loved are Arctic Monkeys, Peace and for the lyrics we take a lot of inspiration from classic Brit Pop like Blur.”
Will you be heading out on tour in support of the EP?
“We will be doing a tour in August form the 18th to the 23rd, with some amazing gigs lined up like the old blue last in Shoreditch.”
Describe the band in three words.
“Indie. Groove. Arcadian.”
What are you most excited for this year?
“The 30th of July will be an amazing day with the release of our EP, and a headline show at The Horn in St Albans.”
Where can fans find out more about you?
“Our fans can find links to all our social media and dates for gigs at our website arcadian.band .”
