Welsh rockers Reaper in Sicily who in 2009 hit the scene and soon made a name for themselves, having won best unsigned live act by Kerrang! Magazine. They then went on to sign a record deal with Search and Destroy Records and Raw Power Management. The five piece band also had their first single ‘We Are The Show’ appear on TV screens across the nation and was even played on BBC Radio One.
However, sadly in March 2010, guitarist Matthew Jenkins was diagnosed with Leukaemia and the band were put on hiatus until Jenkins was well enough to play again. And THANKFULLY he was!
Having made a fantastic comeback with their Reading and Leeds performance, supporting their debut EP ‘Eden’, they later followed up with their second EP ‘Chapters. They followed up this EP with supporting slots with the likes of Kids in Glass Houses, The Subways, Mallory Knox and Hildamay as well as may more!
But this time Reaper in Sicily are back with not only a new single called ‘Horizons’ that you will be able to listen to on 25th March, but also a debut album called ‘Islands’ which has a national release date of June 10th.
The track opens up with a powerful and heavy sound that continues through the song, until the very end. The is a cracking song, both musically, vocally and lyrically. This is a song that grabs your attention from the get go and holds it there!
‘Horizons’ is a song that will make you a fan of the band if you’re not already and if you are a fan of the band you will love the band even more!
If this is an insight into the reset of the album I am very excited to hear the rest!
It’s going to be an explosive year for the Reaper in Sicily boys.
